Sizar Alexis is an Iraqi-born, Sweden-based designer who makes objects and sculptural furniture in geometric forms. Born in Ankawa, near Erbil in northern Iraq, he moved to Sweden with his family in 1997 and settled in Eskilstuna. He studied at Beckmans College of Design and holds degrees in engineering (2009) and fine arts (2019).
His work explores the raw beauty of natural materials and draws on the architectural and spiritual heritage of ancient Mesopotamia and his Chaldean background. On Formground it is shown through 20 pieces, among them the Lahmu coffee table, the Ousia and Ode chairs and the Pilier console.
