Kalmar Werkstätten

Kalmar Werkstätten is the product line of J.T. Kalmar, a family-run lighting maker founded in Vienna in 1881 by Julius August Kalmar and now in its fifth generation. Launched in 2009, the line makes pendant, table and floor luminaires based on designs from the company's archives, including the Posthorn pendant and the Kilo table lamp.

The archive pieces draw on the company's work with architects of the Austrian Werkbund and are updated for current interiors. The same company also runs Kalmar Project, which makes custom lighting for hospitality, commercial and marine clients. On Formground it is shown through 33 pieces, each linked to its own page.
