Wittman Estes

Wittman Estes is an architecture practice in Seattle that works together with landscape. It began from the view that buildings and landscapes were being designed as separate things, and sets out to design them as one, with smooth thresholds between inside and outside and a richness of natural materials. The practice is known for energy-positive prefab housing, multifamily housing and design for sensitive ecological sites.

On Formground its work is shown through 11 houses, from courtyard houses in the city to cabins on islands and by rivers. Each links to its project page on the practice's own site.
