Mabeo Furniture

Mabeo is a furniture maker in Botswana that began by making furniture for commercial projects. It has since moved to making simple objects through a hands-on dialogue with artisans and craftspeople in Botswana, working with international designers including Patricia Urquiola, Vincent Van Duysen and Claesson Koivisto Rune.

The Lesire collection, designed by Mabeo Studio, is made in Panga Panga wood from a community environmental preservation project in neighbouring Mozambique. On Formground the maker is shown through 35 pieces, among them the Kika stool, the Embi series and the Tswana folding chair.
