Eric Schmitt is a self-taught designer and craftsman whose design office and workshop sit on the edge of the Fontainebleau forest in France. He makes furniture, lighting, vases and objects, along with a jewellery line, working in hammered wrought iron, bronze and marble. His first pieces were hand-forged with a power hammer.
A design starts as a drawing that becomes a model, which founders, glassmakers and marble workers produce. The parts return to the atelier to be patinated and assembled. The work is also carried by galleries and editors including Galerie Dutko, Maison Liaigre and Carpenters Workshop Gallery. On Formground it is shown through 384 pieces, each linked to its own page.
