Byarums Bruk

Byarums Bruk is a foundry and furniture maker in Byarum, Småland, Sweden, founded in 1947 by the Bokinge brothers. At a time when cast iron dominated, they chose to cast aluminium. In 1974 the second owner, Hans Pruth, took over with a vision of making furniture, and from the 1980s the company began developing its own models with the designer Björn Alge.

Today the range is mainly outdoor and public-space furniture: benches, tables, armchairs and sofas, plus planters, litter bins and bicycle bollards. The products are made to stand outdoors in the Nordic climate, and the aluminium is melted down and reused when a product has served its time. The company still works with outside designers.
