Toh is a Los Angeles studio experimenting in objects and furniture. The name translates as dirt, and the practice is a continuous study of objects through materials, balancing form and function on the belief that materials and processes give rise to form.
The piece shown here is the Ssang stool from the Study Aluminum series, made in 5052 aluminium in several sizes. Aluminium is chosen for its strength-to-weight ratio, its soft raw texture and because it can be recycled repeatedly. On Formground it is shown through one piece, linked to its own page.
