Ruka Studio is a collective of former Apple engineers and designers making products for the home around the idea of ritual. Its first product is the Ruka TD-1, a vertical record player that can be mounted on a wall, set on a floor stand or placed on a tabletop.
The TD-1 plays wirelessly to modern speakers or as pure analog through a hi-fi. It is machined from aluminium, has knobs that turn and switches that click, and seats the record with a magnetic clamp. One of its designers, who spent five years at Apple, trained at ArtCenter and works in Los Angeles. On Formground it is shown through 2 pieces, each linked to its own page.
