Motarasu is a Danish design house in Copenhagen, founded in 2019 by Mikkel Zebitz. It brings Danish and Japanese designers and craft traditions together in lighting, furniture and home objects, for example pendants with washi paper from the Mito region wrapped over fine resin strips.
The collection grows through collaborations with designers and makers such as Lars Vejen, Toshiyuki Tani and AHM x LUND, whose Ray lamp is in the permanent collection of Designmuseum Danmark. Bamboo shades are split, bent and placed by hand. On Formground it is shown through 30 pieces, each linked to its own page.
