Hyfer Objects is a design studio co-founded by Kristina Tjäder, Sara Stendebakken and Axel Andersson that turns waste materials into furniture and lighting. The main furniture material is about 70 percent wood scraps from Scandinavian and Baltic forestry combined with a recycled biopolymer.
The name comes from the Swedish word for hyphae, the fungal networks beneath a mushroom. Pieces shown include the Eel Lounge Chair, the Anemone and Octopus side tables, the Anemone dining table and the Kakta lamps, and bespoke pieces are also made. On Formground it is shown through 10 pieces, each linked to its own page.
